You'll be trusted to work across a full range of sawmill machinery, from rip saws to moulders, with pay of up to £14.50 per hour reflecting that skill.

As a Sawmill Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:

Select timber boards suited to each works order
Operate rip saws, bandsaws, the beam saw and moulders to fulfil orders accurately and safely
Maximise yield from every piece of timber processed
Record sawn and machined timber accurately on production paperwork and systems
Stack, band and label completed orders safely and presentably
Maintain a clean, organised work area
As a Sawmill Machine Operator, your experience will include:

Experience working in a timber sawmill or similar manufacturing environment, operating machinery (certificate, diploma or degree an advantage)
Good standard of basic education, particularly maths
Fluent spoken English
Forklift licence advantageous
Strong attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving
Good time-management skills to meet production deadlines
