We are recruiting for an experienced Service Coordinator / Engineer Scheduler to join a busy and well-established team. This is a key role within the Service Department, responsible for coordinating a team of field-based engineers and ensuring the right engineer is in the right place at the right time.
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling planned maintenance, service visits, remedial works and emergency call-outs, while keeping both engineers and customers fully informed.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and coordinate multiple field-based engineers, balancing location, priority, availability, skills and customer requirements Plan and organise planned maintenance and service visits Respond quickly and effectively to emergency call-outs and changing priorities Manage and continuously review engineer diaries to maximise efficiency Rearrange schedules at short notice when required Provide engineers with clear work instructions, site information and relevant documentation Liaise with customers regarding appointments, changes, delays and queries Coordinate with internal teams to ensure engineers have everything required for each visit Assist with service reports, worksheets, estimates and invoicing information Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the department Build strong working relationships with engineers and customers Identify scheduling issues and resolve problems proactively
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience scheduling or coordinating engineers, technicians, operatives or other mobile/field-based teams. You will be highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and comfortable making decisions when plans change.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within an engineering, maintenance, construction, facilities, M&E or other technical service environment.
You will also have:
Proven experience scheduling multiple engineers or field-based teams Excellent planning and organisational skills Strong communication and customer service skills The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure A proactive approach and the confidence to make decisions independently Strong relationship-building skills with both engineers and customers Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office The ability to quickly learn scheduling and service management systems
