BMS Service Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced BMS Service Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Schneider Electric Building Management Systems. The role will involve planned preventative maintenance, reactive service, fault finding, commissioning, software modifications and optimisation of BMS installations across commercial and critical environments.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC controls and BMS technology, with proven experience working with Schneider Electric BMS platforms, including EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO), SmartStruxure and associated Schneider controllers and supervisory systems.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on BMS systems.

Diagnose and rectify faults on Schneider Electric BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, valves and associated HVAC equipment.

Service, maintain and optimise Schneider Electric BMS systems.

Work with EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) and associated Schneider software and hardware.

Undertake BMS software modifications, graphics updates, alarm management and trend analysis.

Fault-find HVAC control systems, including AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems, boilers, chillers, pumps and associated plant.

Configure, modify and commission Schneider BMS controllers and field devices.

Analyse BMS alarms and trends to identify faults and improve system performance.

Carry out functional testing and commissioning of BMS-controlled equipment.

Liaise with customers, facilities teams, subcontractors and other engineers to resolve technical issues.

Provide technical support and advice to clients on BMS operation, maintenance and energy optimisation.

Complete service reports, maintenance records and technical documentation.

Attend reactive/emergency call-outs when required.

Ensure all works comply with relevant health and safety procedures and company standards.

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a BMS Service Engineer / BMS Controls Engineer.

Strong practical experience with Schneider Electric BMS systems.

Experience with EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO).

Experience with Schneider Electric controllers and field-level devices.

Good knowledge of HVAC plant and mechanical building services.

Strong BMS fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Experience with BMS graphics, alarms, trends and software modifications.

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and BMS points lists.

Understanding of BMS networking and communications protocols.

Experience with BACnet, Modbus and other BMS communication protocols.

Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

Full UK driving licence preferred.

Desirable Experience

Schneider EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO).

SmartStruxure.

Schneider SmartX controllers.

BACnet/IP and MS/TP.

Modbus TCP/IP and RTU.

HVAC commissioning and optimisation.

Energy management and BMS optimisation.

Experience working in commercial buildings, healthcare, data centres or other critical environments.

Experience with remote BMS monitoring and technical support.

Experience integrating third-party HVAC, metering and plant systems into Schneider BMS platforms.
