Job Description - School and Admissions Secretary

School and Admissions Secretary
  • Location: SE London
  • Type: Full-time -  - All Year round
  • Working Hours: 5 days per week, 9am-3pm (flexibility required)
  • Salary: Competitive

We are looking for an experienced individual to join a dedicated team as a School and Admissions Secretary at a vibrant school. This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of the school's day-to-day administration and manages all aspects of the admissions process. You will be the first point of contact for prospective parents and support the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with various administrative tasks.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for parents and visitors, ensuring a warm and professional presence.
  • Manage the entire admissions process from initial enquiry to enrolment, including maintaining records, coordinating visits, and communicating with families.
  • Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, including diary management and correspondence.
  • Oversee school communications such as newsletters and website updates.
  • Organise school events and manage logistics for meetings, including minute taking.
  • Handle phone and email enquiries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain and update administrative systems, including data entry and digitising forms.
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with school management systems such as SIMS.
  • Proficiency in Office365 and GSuite.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to engage in training and personal development.
