A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Harrow is seeking a Careers & Employability Lead to join the team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the school's Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme, ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to make informed decisions about their future education, training and employment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the school's CEIAG programme. Deliver impartial one-to-one careers guidance, group sessions, workshops and assemblies. Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and external organisations. Organise careers fairs, employer encounters, workplace visits and work experience opportunities. Support students with CV writing, interview preparation, UCAS applications, personal statements and apprenticeship applications. Promote further education, higher education, apprenticeships and employment pathways. Track student destinations and maintain accurate careers records. Ensure the school's careers provision meets the Gatsby Benchmarks, Baker Clause and statutory guidance. Work collaboratively with senior leaders and teaching staff to embed careers education across the curriculum.
Essential Requirements
Level 4 Careers Guidance qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum. Experience working within a secondary school, college or careers guidance setting. Experience delivering careers education and employability programmes. Strong knowledge of post-16 and post-18 pathways, apprenticeships and higher education. Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people. Strong IT and administrative skills.
Desirable
Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development. Experience using careers platforms such as Unifrog, Compass+ or Grofar. Knowledge of destination tracking and labour market information.
