The Opportunity

This Outstanding Birmingham school is seeking a proactive and skilled School Caretaker. You will be responsible for the security, maintenance, and overall safety of the school site, ensuring it remains an inspiring and safe environment for pupils and staff. This is a key role within the premises team, requiring a candidate who takes pride in the physical presentation of the school.

Core Responsibilities

• Site Security: Acting as a primary key-holder, responsible for the daily opening and locking of the site and managing alarm systems.

• Maintenance & Repairs: Undertaking general maintenance tasks, minor repairs (DIY), and supervising external contractors for major works.

• Health & Safety: Executing statutory compliance checks, including fire safety, water hygiene (Legionella), and building risk assessments.

Requirements & Compensation

• Essential: Proven experience in site management or a skilled trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work).
