School Caretaker | Crowborough | £23,000 - £25,000 per annum | Permanent
This school is seeking a dependable and proactive School Caretaker to join their team and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the school premises and grounds are clean, secure, and well-maintained.
• Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and basic DIY tasks.
• Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
• Manage site security, including opening and locking the school.
• Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks and report any issues.
• Liaise with contractors and oversee external maintenance work.
• Clear pathways and ensure safe access during adverse weather.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in care-taking, facilities, or maintenance (school experience is desirable).
• Practical skills in basic repairs and maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
