School Cook Shifts : Monday to Friday between 7am – 2pm (hours may vary by site) Area : Across the Birmingham Area Pay : Weekly pay from £16.25ph (depending on experience) We are seeking friendly, reliable, enthusiastic & experienced School Cooks to support a variety of school sites throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas on a temporary basis for the upcoming academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking for Monday to Friday daytime work while gaining valuable experience within educational settings. About the Role As a School Cook, you will play a key role in preparing and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals for pupils and staff while supporting the efficient operation of busy school kitchens. Typical duties may include:
Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with school menus and nutritional guidelines Managing food preparation and ensuring meals are served on time Monitoring food quality, portion control and presentation standards Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen compliance Assisting with stock rotation, stock control and ordering requirements Supporting and working alongside catering assistants and kitchen staff Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard What We Offer

Previous experience as a School Cook, Chef, Cook Supervisor, Chef Manager Sous Chef or similar catering role Experience preparing and cooking meals in a high-volume catering environment Food Safety Level 2 Certificate (Level 3 desirable) Food Allergen Awareness Certificate (we can offer training) Safeguarding Training (we can offer training) Enhanced DBS certificate (we can process) Good knowledge of food hygiene regulations and allergen management Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment A positive attitude with excellent organisational and time management skills If you're a School Cook, Chef, Cook Supervisor or Catering Professional looking for flexible weekday work within a rewarding school environment, we'd love to hear from you.
