Hours: 20 hours per week - Times to be agreed

The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school for an experienced School Cook to join their friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing healthy, nutritious meals and wants to make a positive difference within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for pupils and staff.
Plan and deliver meals efficiently within agreed service times.
Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked kitchen.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies where required.
Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
Carry out daily cleaning duties and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Work closely with colleagues to provide an efficient catering service.
Promote a positive dining experience for pupils.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the School Catering Manager.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Cook, ideally within a school, care, healthcare or commercial catering environment.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Good understanding of food safety, allergen awareness and kitchen hygiene.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
Right to work in the UK.
