School Facilities Officer | St Leonards On Sea | £25,000 - £28,000 per annum | Full Time
This school is seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the school site. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the school's building and grounds. You'll manage a small team and work closely with senior leadership to maintain a high standard of facilities that support learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site staff, including caretakers and cleaning teams.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance of the school site.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and fire safety.
• Manage site security, including access control and emergency procedures.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers for building works and services.
• Monitor budgets and maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance.
• Support school events and lettings, ensuring facilities are prepared and safe.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in facilities or site management, ideally within an educational setting.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and coordinate external contractors.
• A hands-on approach with practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant qualifications in facilities management or health and safety are desirable.
