School Finance Manager

This is a crucial role within the leadership team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the school’s financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and help deliver the best outcomes for students through effective resource management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on budget setting and financial planning in collaboration with senior leaders.

• Preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring financial performance, and completing reconciliations.

• Overseeing payroll checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

• Supporting the development and implementation of efficient financial systems and procedures.

• Managing and developing finance staff, providing guidance and day-to-day oversight.

• Acting as a key contact for auditors and supporting the school’s readiness for inspections and financial reviews.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working in the education sector

• Demonstrate strong budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis skills.

• Be proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

• Have experience managing or supporting finance staff.

• Be a confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders.
