School Finance Manager

About the Company:
My client is a well-respected school based in the Maidstone area. With a rich history, they are now looking to recruit a School Finance Manager to join the schools senior support team. 

The Role:
Overseeing a small, but close-knit finance team, this role reports into the Headteacher and oversees the school’s financial operations, contributing to strategic financial planning, providing insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team and ensuring efficient use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparing the financial forecasts, budget plans and financial reports for the central office
Ensure the effective operation of financial control within the school
Ensure preparation of monthly management accounts and periodic re-forecasts
Monitor cash flow
Oversee the effective management of the payroll service

Desirable Skills:
(Part) qualified accountant, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
Advanced excel skills and previous experience of Sage
Experience of successfully managing significant budgets, budgetary control processes and resources
Experience in a financial management role in a school/academy of education environment is desirable but not essential.
Experience of producing annual financial statements.
