School Finance Officer

• Annual Salary: £24,412 - £27,368
• Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
• Job Type: Term-time only, 37 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated School Finance Officer to join a SEN School. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to contribute to the smooth financial operation of a school that prioritises special education needs. The position is available to start as soon as possible.

• Managing and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations within the school, including payroll, purchasing, and invoicing.
• Preparing financial reports and budgets, ensuring they comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring expenditure and managing budget allocations in consultation with the school management.
• Liaising with external agencies, including auditors, to ensure compliance with financial practices.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Handling cash flow management and forecasting, ensuring the school's financial commitments are met.
• Supporting the school administration with financial queries and providing advice on financial policy and control.

• Proven experience in a financial role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively presenting financial data to non-finance staff.
• Experience in a SEN school environment is advantageous but not essential.
