Academics Ltd are working with a welcoming school in Swanley who are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join their school catering team.

The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the school kitchen and help ensure pupils and staff receive a high standard of food and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals

Supporting the kitchen team with general kitchen duties

Cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas and equipment

Washing up and ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic

Assisting with stock and deliveries when required

Following food hygiene, health & safety and safeguarding procedures

Helping to provide a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience working in a kitchen, catering or similar environment

A reliable and hardworking attitude

Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety

The ability to work well as part of a team

Good communication skills

Experience working within a school or similar setting is desirable but not essential

An Enhanced DBS suitable for working in a school, or willingness to obtain one

Hours: 10:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday

Pay: From £14.50 per hour

DBS: Enhanced DBS required
