Summary
The School Organisation and Place Planning Manager is a pivotal role within the local authority, tasked with leading the strategic planning, coordination, and delivery of school place sufficiency. This position ensures the availability of high-quality school places to meet both current and future demands, while aligning with statutory requirements, demographic growth, and educational priorities. The manager will oversee various school organisation projects, including expansions, new developments, amalgamations, closures, and capacity changes, ensuring that the educational infrastructure supports the community's needs.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of school place planning strategies to ensure adequate educational provision.
Analyse demographic, population, housing, and pupil forecast data to determine school place requirements.
Develop and maintain models for school capacity and pupil projections to guide decision-making.
Contribute to long-term education and capital planning strategies.
Manage school organisation projects, including expansions, new developments, and capacity changes.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
Significant experience in school place planning, education strategy, local authority planning, or a related field.
Experience managing complex projects and programmes within education, public sector, or local government environments.
Essential Qualifications Required
Degree-level qualification in Education, Planning, Public Administration, Geography, Business Management, Data Analysis, or a related discipline.
Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to strategic planning, education, or project management.
