We are currently recruiting a reliable and hardworking School Premises Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school based in Tower Hamlets, East London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous caretaking, facilities or premises experience who is looking for a long-term position, with the potential to secure a permanent role after 18 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

Opening and securing the school premises, ensuring the site is safe and accessible.

Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.

Ensuring classrooms, corridors and communal areas are clean, tidy and well maintained.

Completing regular health and safety checks and reporting any hazards.

Setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events.

Monitoring site security and assisting with deliveries and contractors.

Responding to day-to-day maintenance requests from school staff.

Supporting the smooth running of the school's premises and facilities.

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working as a School Site Assistant or in a similar facilities role.

Practical maintenance and DIY skills.

A good understanding of health and safety procedures.

Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.

Strong communication skills and a flexible approach.

A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider school community.
