Teleios Recruitment is supporting a well-established school in Lichfield who are looking for an experienced School Site Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on site-based role and we are looking for someone who has previously worked in a school, academy, college or similar educational environment and understands the responsibilities that come with keeping a school site safe, compliant and well maintained.

This is not simply a caretaking position. The successful person will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring that the school buildings, grounds, facilities and compliance requirements are properly managed.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the school site, working closely with the Head Teacher, staff and cleaning team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site

*

Ensuring the school remains safe, secure and well maintained

*

Carrying out regular checks of the buildings, grounds and facilities

*

Managing and maintaining compliance records

*

Ensuring statutory checks and testing are completed and recorded correctly

*

Overseeing fire safety procedures, including fire alarm testing and records

*

Identifying maintenance issues and arranging appropriate repairs

*

Liaising with contractors and external suppliers

*

Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs where appropriate

*

Managing keys, security and site access

*

Supporting the school with health and safety requirements

*

Maintaining accurate records and documentation

*

Working closely with the cleaning team to ensure high standards are maintained across the site

*

Responding to any issues that arise during the school day

About You

We are looking for someone who has genuine previous experience managing or supervising a school site or similar educational premises.

You will ideally have experience of:

Working within a school, academy, college or educational setting

*

Managing a school/site environment

*

Health and safety and compliance procedures

*

Fire safety and statutory testing

*

Working with contractors and external suppliers

*

Keeping accurate maintenance and compliance records

*

Carrying out practical maintenance and repairs

*

Managing competing priorities and responding to issues quickly

You will need to be organised, practical and reliable, with good attention to detail.

Most importantly, you will understand that working within a school environment is different from managing a standard commercial or industrial site. Safeguarding, compliance, health and safety and keeping the environment safe for pupils and staff are all extremely important.
