Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher eager to spark curiosity and inspire young minds? A vibrant secondary school in Rayleigh is seeking a talented individual to join their science department from September 2025. This permanent position is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and offers a supportive environment ideal for Early Career Teachers as well as experienced practitioners.

The school is committed to academic excellence and provides an engaging curriculum supported by excellent resources, collaborative colleagues, and meaningful professional development. You’ll play a key role in helping students explore the scientific world through hands-on learning, enquiry, and critical thinking.

 

Whether you’re just beginning your teaching journey or seeking a new opportunity in a thriving school community, this role provides the support, structure, and inspiration to help you succeed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Inspire and challenge students through practical learning and scientific enquiry.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching to meet diverse needs.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the science curriculum.
  • Participate in department planning, CPD, and wider school initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Support extracurricular and enrichment opportunities in science.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • QTS or expected QTS by September 2025.
  • A degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science).
  • Open to Early Career Teachers and experienced educators.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student progress.
  • Enthusiasm for science and the ability to inspire young learners.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school life and team.
