Are you an enthusiastic Science Teacher ready to inspire young minds through engaging and meaningful learning? A forward-thinking secondary school in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their science department from September 2025. This full-time, permanent role is perfect for Early Career Teachers and experienced educators alike who are excited about delivering high-quality science education.

 

You’ll teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities for specialism development and enrichment. The school offers a supportive environment, excellent facilities, and a curriculum that balances practical investigations with academic rigour. With a strong team around you and leadership that values innovation, this is a fantastic place to build or grow your teaching career.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Foster curiosity and a love for scientific enquiry.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and well-organised learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school initiatives.
  • Participate in whole-school life, including clubs and enrichment opportunities.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • QTS and a degree in a science-related subject (essential).
  • Open to Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers.
  • Passion for teaching and engaging students in science.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
