Your Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging and appropriately challenging Science lessons across the relevant key stages.
Inspire pupils through practical, investigative and theoretical science.
Develop pupils' knowledge and understanding across areas such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as appropriate to the curriculum.
Set consistently high expectations for achievement, behaviour and personal development.
Monitor pupil progress and use assessment effectively to identify gaps, misconceptions and next steps.
Develop pupils' scientific thinking, problem-solving, analysis and critical-thinking skills.
Encourage pupils to ask questions, investigate evidence and develop an understanding of scientific methodology.
‍ Promote safe and responsible participation in practical scientific activities.
‍ Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the wider school.
Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
Support pupils' wider development and prepare them for further education, employment and life beyond school.
Contribute positively to the wider life and culture of the school.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to teach across the relevant key stages.
