The Role

A highly regarded Secondary Academy in Oxford is seeking an inquisitive, academically driven, and exceptionally organised Science Teacher to join their expanding STEM faculty. This role is an excellent opportunity for a biology, chemistry, or physics specialist who excels at introducing students to the scientific method, real-world data collection, and rigorous theoretical frameworks.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality practical and theoretical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A-Level) modules in your area of specialization. Key responsibilities include designing structured laboratory practicals, working closely with the technician team to manage chemicals and apparatus safely, tracking student progress via the school's digital portal, and facilitating extra-curricular STEM clubs or mentoring schemes.

You will maintain an active, safe, and collaborative learning environment. A strong understanding of CLEAPSS safety frameworks and a proactive approach to student assessment are vital to keeping the department running smoothly.

Requirements

• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a degree in a scientific field

• Proven experience planning and delivering Science lessons up to GCSE (A-Level experience is highly desirable)

• Complete familiarity with health and safety regulations in a school laboratory setting (CLEAPSS & COSHH)

• Confident IT literacy, with experience utilizing digital progress tracking databases

• An adaptable, collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced academic environment
