TeacherActive is proud to be working with a successful secondary school in Birmingham to recruit a Science Teacher. The school has a well-respected Science department where Biology and Chemistry are taught as separate sciences from Year 8, with excellent GCSE and A-Level outcomes, fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous professional development.

The school is seeking to appoint a full-time or part-time Science Teacher on a fixed-term contract for the 2026/2027 academic year, starting in September 2026. The successful Science Teacher will teach Biology or Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, take responsibility for a tutor group, deliver fortnightly form sessions and work closely with the Subject Leader while contributing to a thriving department where large numbers of students continue their studies at A-Level.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

QTS with a specialism in Biology or Chemistry (ECTs are welcome to apply)
Experience teaching Science, Biology or Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
Excellent classroom management and strong subject knowledge
Confidence using IT to enhance teaching and learning
A sound understanding of health and safety requirements within Science
A positive, organised and collaborative approach with a commitment to continually improving practice
