Position: Science Teacher

A successful State Secondary School in Coventry is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its thriving Science department from September. This is a full-time opportunity within a well-regarded school that combines strong academic expectations with a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Science is a highly valued subject across the school, with students encouraged to develop curiosity, practical investigation skills, and a strong understanding of the world around them through a broad and ambitious curriculum.
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire students and support excellent academic progress.
The role will involve teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach your specialist science at A-Level depending on experience and departmental needs.
You will support students in developing practical laboratory skills, scientific literacy, and analytical thinking while preparing them for GCSE and A-Level examinations. The successful candidate will also contribute to STEM enrichment, intervention programmes, and wider departmental development.
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and implement targeted intervention strategies
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
Experience working within a values-led or faith school environment
Strong track record of improving student outcomes
