Are you an organised, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with a passion for supporting science education? We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Science Technician to join an Outstanding college in the heart of Sheffield from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a thriving science department, providing vital technical support to teachers and helping to create engaging, practical learning experiences for students. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for this role to become permanent.
The Role
As a Science Technician, you will:
Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are organised and readily available. Support the safe and effective delivery of practical activities in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Monitor stock levels and order equipment and consumables as required. Ensure laboratories comply with health and safety regulations.The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Can work independently as well as part of a busy team. Has a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Has previous experience in a laboratory or school environment (desirable but not essential). Is reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting young people's education.What We Offer
