Science Technician

Job Description

M/LK Education Search is seeking a Science Technician to start in September.

Science Technician responsibilities:
Providing daily support for teaching and learning.
Assisting teachers with demonstrations and experiments.
Preparing equipment and materials for practical lessons.
Setting up and clearing away equipment and materials.
Managing stock levels to ensure an adequate supply of materials for lessons.
Demonstrating safe equipment and chemical use to staff and students.
Offering technical support for ICT in Science classes and contributing to its integration into teaching programs.
Collaborating with the IT Technician to evaluate, install, and demonstrate new software.
Assisting with data entry into departmental records.
Contributing to the development of technical initiatives.
Improving science laboratories and curriculum resources under the guidance of the Subject Leader – Science.
Continuously developing practical knowledge, skills, and technical expertise.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
GCSE English, Maths and a Science subject A*-C or equivalent.
Certificate in First Aid or a willingness to undertake training
Successful experience of working in a specialist technical area, possibly in a school environment.
Science background. •
Use of appropriate equipment.
