Seat Repair Bay Technician

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Interior Cabin Seat Repair Technician on behalf of our client based near Saffron Walden, on a permanent basis.

Our client is looking for an experienced Seat Bay Technician to join their team, carrying out the inspection, repair, refurbishment and reassembly of aircraft cabin seats. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in seat repair, trimming or upholstery, preferably within the aviation or motor manufacturing industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Inspect, strip down, clean and repair aircraft cabin seats.

* Carry out upholstery, trimming and component replacement as required.

* Identify repair requirements and work from technical documentation.

* Complete final inspections to ensure repairs meet required quality standards.

* Maintain accurate records and documentation of all repair work.

* Ensure all work is completed in line with approved technical data and company procedures.

* Report any maintenance issues or non-conformances to the Team Leader.

* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

* Liaise with internal departments to ensure the availability of parts and materials.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

* Previous experience in aircraft seat repair, seat bay or interior cabin maintenance is highly desirable.

* Experience in trimming and upholstery within aviation or motor manufacturing would be advantageous.

* Good understanding of technical documentation and repair procedures.

* Strong attention to detail and quality.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

* Engineering qualifications such as BTEC, ONC, HNC or HND are desirable but not essential.

* IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: The successful candidate must be able to commute to Saffron Walden, with the company relocating to Braintree, Essex, in late 2026 to early 2027. Candidates must be happy to commute to both locations during the transition.
