Job DescriptionSecond Line IT EngineerLocation: Cambridge - HybridSalary: £29,000 per annumSecond line IT engineer - Role Overview:They are seeking to hire a Second Line Engineer, where the individual will play a crucial role in providing technical support, maintenance, and customer service. Their end-to-end independent technology consultancy helps organizations understand and derive real value from their technology systems and investments.Second line IT engineer - Principal Duties:• Provide technical support and maintenance for user-based IT hardware and software.• Conduct full diagnostics with end users to enable ticket resolution.• Regular maintenance and patching of infrastructure, endpoints, and servers.• Escalate calls when necessary and ensure appropriate teams are aware.• Conduct onsite customer visits as required.• Demonstrate a customer-first approach to support.• Communicate confidently and professionally with customers at all levels.• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage workload efficiently.• Research and learn new technologies/solutions under pressure.• Share knowledge and contribute as a strong team player.Second line IT engineer - Requirements:• GCSE or equivalent preferred.• 1 year of experience in IT support and customer service preferred.• Exposure to technologies including:○ Windows Server (2012 Onwards)○ Microsoft Azure (Maintenance, configuration, and monitoring)○ Microsoft Exchange (Beneficial)○ Microsoft Office 365 (Maintenance & Configuration)○ Windows OS 7, 8 & 10○ Active Directory & Azure AD○ Apple Mac (Advantageous)○ DNS, DHCP, Group Policy○ Backup – Veeam Configure, Maintain, troubleshootNetworking, switches, subnets, LAN, WAN, DNS
