Secondary cover supervisor

Teaching Tomorrow is seeking experienced and confident Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Northamptonshire. Whether you’re already experienced in the role or a qualified teacher looking for flexible cover work, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role:

You’ll supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay on task and continue learning. Lessons and materials are pre-prepared — your focus will be maintaining a calm and productive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-set work to classes across a range of subjects.
• Manage behaviour effectively and uphold school expectations.
• Support students in engaging with their learning.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure continuity.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar school-based role.
• Confident classroom management skills.
• Strong communication and adaptability.
• Valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
