Secondary Cover Supervisor

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Secondary Cover Supervisor.The person appointed to this post will occupy a key role within the academy, supervising, supporting, and encouraging our students with their learning. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive and will use their initiative within the classroom.

They will encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others whilst motivating them and offering support. The successful candidate will;
Be prepared to deliver lessons for the year group they are covering (lesson will be planned by the class teacher)
Assist/support students with tasks as needed
Be confident in providing detailed and regular feedback to the class teacher
Be able to effectively manage behaviour
Be resourceful, creative, and imaginative with fantastic communication skills
Show initiative and the ability to respond calmly to a variety of situations
In an emergency, be able to think of activities to occupy the class until work is set
The essential requirements of this role are;
GCSE Maths & English Level C or above
Evidence of further education or training
Experience Required
Supervising groups or whole classes
Working with pupils with learning and/or mental health needs or student support capacity or other specific behaviors
Working independently and with others
Experience of working with children in a school or similar environment
Use of management information systems (SIMS etc) and associated ICT
