We're looking for a Secondary Humanities Tutor to support young people across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help students engage with subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and broader Humanities topics, tailoring sessions to meet individual learning needs. Many learners require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tutor who can make learning accessible, engaging, and relevant.
This role is ideal for educators who enjoy encouraging curiosity, developing critical thinking skills, and helping students build confidence in their abilities.

Requirements
Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles Strong knowledge of one or more Humanities subjects Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Patient, adaptable, and creative approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas

You'll work with secondary-aged students who may have a range of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance EHCPs and additional educational needsYour role will focus on helping learners develop confidence, improve engagement, and make progress towards their educational goals.
