Physical Education Teacher

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teaching and Learning:

    • Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging PE lessons aligned with the institution's curriculum.
    • Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Set challenging expectations to motivate and inspire students, promoting excellent progress and outcomes.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of subject matter and curriculum developments.
  • Curriculum Development and School Participation:

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of the institution's policies and teaching strategies.
    • Engage in curriculum development activities to ensure coordinated outcomes across different subjects.
    • Participate actively in school events and initiatives, contributing to the broader educational ethos.
  • Health, Safety, and Discipline:

    • Uphold a safe learning environment, promoting the well-being of all students.
    • Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain good order and discipline.
  • Professional Development:

    • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
    • Engage in the appraisal and development of colleagues, fostering a supportive professional community.
  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Collaborate with other professionals both within and outside the institution to enhance educational practices.
  • Personal and Professional Conduct:

    • Adhere to professional duties and responsibilities as outlined in statutory frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Physical Education.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching PE at a similar educational level.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and teaching methods for Physical Education.
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
