We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Teacher of Design and Technology to inspire and educate students in a dynamic learning environment. Duties

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology, incorporating practical activities and theoretical knowledge.
• Mentor students to develop their technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
• Supervise laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed during experiments involving biochemistry or other scientific research.
• Provide personalised support through tutoring and behaviour management strategies to maximise student learning outcomes.
• Assist students with proofreading their projects and reports to ensure clarity, accuracy, and high standards of presentation.
• Integrate cross-disciplinary content such as maths and science into design projects to enhance understanding of scientific principles.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials that promote inclusive education, including special education needs.
• Maintain a safe, organised classroom environment conducive to active learning and experimentation.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in scientific research related to biochemistry and laboratory techniques relevant to the curriculum.

Skills

• Proven experience in teaching or tutoring within Design and Technology or related fields.
• Strong mentoring abilities with a focus on fostering student confidence and independence.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Competence in laboratory experience, including safety procedures in scientific experiments such as biochemistry.
• Ability to manage behaviour positively whilst maintaining high standards of discipline.
• Proficiency in proofreading student work for accuracy and clarity.
• Knowledge of scientific research methods relevant to educational settings.
• Experience working with special educational needs is advantageous but not essential.
• Organised approach to lesson planning, resource management, and assessment documentation.
