We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Digital Technologies teacher to inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in a technology-driven world. You will deliver a curriculum that blends computer science, IT skills, and digital literacy, fostering problem-solving, creativity, and ethical awareness.
As a teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Digital Technologies lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and school policies.
- Deliver lessons that may include:Coding exercises or software development projects to develop practical programming skills.Simulations or robotics kits to support hands-on learning and experimentation.Teaching students how to design digital solutions for real-world problems.
- Discussing societal and ethical implications of technology, including digital citizenship, privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Create a nurturing, learner-focused, and ordered classroom environment aligned with curriculum policies and practices.
- Collaboratively develop and implement high-quality curriculum programs; assess student progress and report outcomes to students, parents, and the community.
- Work closely with the leadership team, teachers, and staff to contribute to the professional life of the school and foster a positive school culture.
- Engage proactively in professional learning to enhance student outcomes.
- Support the pastoral care, spiritual, and moral development of students.
- Ensure the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A 3-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, plus a 1-year PGCE or equivalent teacher training program to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Previous classroom experience preferred, ideally with exposure to secondary students across a range of year levels.
- Ability to teach Digital Technologies across secondary years.
- Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum and Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- A commitment to creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom environment.
- The ability to engage effectively with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes.
- A passion for supporting students’ spiritual and moral development.
