We are seeking an experienced and driven Section Engineer to join a major civil engineering and infrastructure project for a Tier 1 Contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale scheme, managing earthworks operations from planning through to execution while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Working within a multidisciplinary delivery team, you will take ownership of earthworks and permanent/temporary infrastructure activities across your section of the project, coordinating site operations, engineering controls, subcontractors and temporary works to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate works within your designated section of the project.
* Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
* Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
* Produce and review ITPs, RAMS, permits and work package plans.
* Coordinate site engineers, subcontractors and plant resources to achieve programme targets.
* Oversee setting out activities and ensure engineering controls are maintained.
* Monitor production outputs, material movements and earthworks quantities.
* Manage cut and fill operations, haul routes, material balance and disposal activities.
* Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and project standards.
* Support commercial teams with records, quantities, progress reporting and change management.
* Identify and resolve engineering and construction issues in a proactive manner.
* Maintain accurate site records and contribute to weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
About You
* Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Previous experience as a Section Engineer or experienced Site Engineer on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
* Strong background in earthworks delivery, including bulk excavation, cut and fill, material management and ground engineering activities.
