Section Engineer

Red Sky Personnel are recruiting for a Section Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor on a pipeline of civil engineering projects at Heathrow Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong civils background to develop their career with a leading global contractor, on one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure sites.

The Role

Reporting to the Sub Agent, you’ll take responsibility for the engineering and delivery of your section of works. You’ll ensure it is built safely, accurately, to specification and on programme.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver your section of civil engineering works, including drainage, earthworks, pavements, foundations and reinforced concrete structures

* Set out and survey works, checking line, level and dimensional accuracy

* Manage and supervise subcontractors and site teams on a day-to-day basis

* Prepare and brief RAMS, permits to work and task briefings

* Coordinate Temporary Works on your section in line with the TW procedure

* Complete quality documentation, including ITPs, checksheets, as-builts and site records

* Plan works with short-term look-aheads, and order materials and plant

* Liaise with Heathrow operational teams to work safely within airport constraints

* Support and mentor Site and Graduate Engineers

About You

* Experience as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on civil engineering projects

* Strong civil engineering background is essential: drainage, earthworks, RC structures, highways or pavements

* Tier 1 or major contractor experience preferred

* Aviation or airport project experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in rail, highways, utilities or other live environments is also well regarded

* Competent with setting out and survey equipment (total station / GPS)

* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering

* SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS card and First Aid at Work

* Able to obtain Heathrow airside security clearance (5-year checkable history)

* Full UK driving licence
