A Security Architect undertakes complex work of a high-risk level, often working on several projects and making decisions to enable the business to achieve its needs.

Location: This role could be based in either our Wythall or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

The role
A Security Architect undertakes complex work of a high-risk level, often working on several projects and making decisions to enable the business to achieve its needs.
Key responsibilities
- Subject matter expertise for security best practice and technical skills with previous experience of delivering and maintaining technical enterprise security solutions advantageous.
- Demonstrable understanding of Information Security standards and frameworks e.g. ISO27001, NIST, PCI DSS.
- Supporting and advising on projects and change initiatives to ensure that there is no negative impact on our security posture.
- Establishing frameworks and patterns for the efficient and effective delivery of security controls.
- Technically lead security projects, ensuring the customer's security requirements are met.
- Performing security reviews and identifying gaps in security architecture.
What are we looking for:
Essential
- Knowledge and understanding of, and experience in, IT security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of Cloud security solutions and standards is highly advantageous.
- Appreciation of trends in IT security.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A well planned and resourceful approach to working, being able to prioritise tasks effectively.
Desirable
- Knowledge of security architectural and/or enterprise architectural frameworks (e.g. SABSA, TOGAF)
- Attained CISSP or similar certification.
- Experience in an Information Security role gained in financial services.
- Experience of providing security advice and defining architecture for serverless and containerised environment.
- Microsoft technical certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, 365 Security Administrator
- AWS technical certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security.
