About Us: Randstad is actively recruiting for a specialised SEMH school deeply committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students with Emotional and Mental Health needs. Nestled in the rural Harrogate area, the schools devoted team is enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the lives of their students and empowering them to achieve their full potential.

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Teaching Assistants to join the team, playing a pivotal role in the success of an SEMH school. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teaching staff, provide support to students in their academic and personal development, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

We also have HLTA roles available depending on your experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver captivating and differentiated lessons.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Education Care Plans (ECPs) for students.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment, championing emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
  • Lead small group interventions to support students' social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to the assessment and tracking of students' progress, offering feedback to teaching staff and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including educational psychologists and external agencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant TA experience.
  • Previous engagement with students with SEMH needs.
  • A strong grasp of SEMH strategies and interventions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
