Job Description - SEMH Teacher

Location: Boston, Lincolnshire

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a versatile and resilient teacher looking for a unique opportunity to transform lives? We’re recruiting a dynamic General Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision in the Boston area, working with young people who need stability, support, and someone who believes in their potential.

This setting supports students with complex social, emotional and mental health needs, often stemming from previous trauma or disrupted education. With small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios, every teacher plays a vital role not only in academic progress but in building trust, resilience, and self-esteem.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching a broad, balanced curriculum across a range of subjects, depending on your strengths.
  • Adapting lessons to suit a wide range of needs and abilities.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborating with therapists, support staff, and leaders to create a cohesive support network for each learner.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • QTS/QTLS or equivalent
  • Experience working in SEMH, alternative provision or specialist settings.
  • A flexible, nurturing and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience.

If you are committed to giving every child the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background or barriers, this role offers a fulfilling and rewarding career path.
