Essential Requirements

To be considered for this SEMH Teacher role in Erdington, you must have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Experience managing challenging behaviour in an educational, youth work, alternative provision, or residential setting
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
The right to work in the UK
A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learnersA formal teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. Applications from unqualified teachers with relevant SEMH experience are welcomed.

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs
Support pupils with SEMH needs and barriers to learning

Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals
Monitor student progress and contribute to personalised learning plans
Encourage attendance, engagement, and positive outcomes
