Semi Senior Accountant

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Central London to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or recently qualified individual to further develop their career within a supportive and dynamic firm.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio, working across a broad range of sectors and services, including accounts preparation, tax, and audit support.

Responsibilities of the Semi Senior Accountant include:

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assist with the preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Support audit assignments (where applicable).
• Prepare VAT returns and management accounts.
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Work closely with senior team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
• Support and mentor junior staff as required.

The successful Semi Senior Accountant:

• Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent), or newly qualified.
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice (ideally at least 2 years).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and UK tax requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, or similar).
