Semi Senior Accountant, Independent Firm of Accountants, Sheffield

The Role

Barber McLelland are working in Partnership with a leading firm of Chartered Accountants based in Sheffield who are looking to appoint Semi Senior Accountant to work within there Audit and Accounts division.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of Accounts Semi Senior will work within a highly experienced team and will be responsible for the following:

• The preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Assist with client auditing, forming part of an on-site audit team, responsible for undertaking various audit checks under the supervision and guidance of an audit manager
• Providing other assurance services, this includes involvement with Grant claim audits for the public sector and solicitor accounts/reporting
• Bookkeeping and VAT compliance - The role will include an element of client care, record keeping and VAT compliance. Where appropriate, occasional management accounts preparation
• Dealing directly with the client, this will include the need to make telephone calls and generate and send emails and written correspondence

Skills and Qualities

The successful applicant must have developed a minimum of 3 years experience working within the accountancy profession and will be AAT qualified or part qualified ACA/ACCA.

The individual will also need good communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Remuneration

• £28,000 - £30,000
