Semi–Senior Practice Accountant
Milton Keynes, MK9 - Office based only

• Full time, permanent (9am – 5:30pm)
• £32,000 - £36,000 per annum

The Role

We are expanding and looking for a talented Semi-Senior Practice Accountant to play a key role in delivering excellent service to our clients while supporting and mentoring junior team members. This is a varied and rewarding role in a vibrant practice where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare small business accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns, and CIS returns
• Manage the Self-Assessment tax return process and support MTD ITSA implementation
• Handle corporation tax calculations, R&D claims, and capital allowances
• Review bookkeeping, reconcile bank statements, and code entries
• Assist clients in adopting cloud accounting software
• Prepare and present management accounts with insights and analysis
• Provide tax efficiency and long-term business planning advice
• Support process improvements across the practice
• Mentor and review work of junior team member
• Drive digital transformation and contribute to strategic projects

The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone ambitious, client-focused, and a strong team player with a desire to develop within a growing firm.

• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• 2+ years’ experience in an accountancy practice
• Proficient in VAT, CIS, Income Tax, Corporation Tax, and bookkeeping
• Experience reviewing and mentoring junior team members
• Willing to travel occasionally for meetings and training (Full UK driving licence required)
• Energetic, empathetic, and passionate about client success
