Location: Western Super Mare/Swindon Salary: £12.71 Hours: Morning Shift - 37.5 Hours per week Contract: Temporary - Chance to go Perm after 12 weeks
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join an internationally recognised production company that manufactures specialist components used within the aerospace, defence and engineering industries. (Candidates Must be able to commute to Western for Training)
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previous warehouse and picking experience and is looking for a role where accuracy, attention to detail and quality are essential.
The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for the accurate picking and preparation of components and materials required for production. This is enhanced picking, rather than a straightforward high-volume warehouse picking role, so you will need to work carefully to detailed instructions and ensure that the correct parts, quantities and references are selected every time.
Your responsibilities will include:
Accurately picking components and materials using handheld picking devices
Checking part numbers, quantities and product information against picking requirements
Ensuring all picked items are correctly identified and prepared for the next stage of production
Using warehouse management systems and handheld scanners/devices
Maintaining accurate stock and picking records
Following detailed processes, procedures and quality requirements
Working closely with production and warehouse colleagues to ensure materials are available when required
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Reporting any discrepancies, damaged items or stock issues promptly
About You
We are looking for someone who is methodical, reliable and highly detail-focused. You will need to understand that even a small picking error can have significant consequences, so getting it right first time is extremely important.
You will ideally have:
Previous warehouse, stores, logistics or picking experience
Experience using handheld scanners or picking devices
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
A good level of spoken and written English, with the ability to understand detailed instructions and documentation
Good numeracy and the ability to accurately check quantities and part numbers
The ability to follow processes and procedures consistently
A reliable and positive attitude
The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider team
Experience within aerospace, defence, engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to work within a highly established international production environment, supporting the manufacture of specialist components for some of the world's most demanding industries.
If you are an experienced picker who takes pride in accuracy, organisation and getting the detail right, we would be keen to hear from you.
