Location: Longridge, Preston

Salary: £12.50 - £20 per hour

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently searching for a Semi-Skilled Operative on behalf of one of our clients.

This role involves supporting production operations within a timber manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include assisting skilled sawyers, handling timber products, and operating various saws and nail guns. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, organisation, and teamwork, while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Previous experience is advantageous, along with a motivated attitude toward meeting performance targets and effective communication with management.

This position offers flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle (7:00am–3:00pm or 9:00am–5:30pm) and an early finish every Friday – start your weekend sooner!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Factory Worker, assisting sawyers, moving and picking timber products
• Manufacturing Timber Frame Products
• Operating Chop Saws, Table Saws, Wall Saws & Nail Guns
• An organised & safe approach to work
• Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
• Work efficiently in a tidy work environment
• Assisting other colleagues with relevant tasks

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience would be beneficial
• Motivation to achieve improvement on work performance, and reach targets as part of a team and individually
• Ability to communicate with management in a respectful and constructive way
• Good attendance and time keeping
• Fully comprehend the need to work safely
