SEN HLTA

NYKAYS Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) at a school in Walthamstow.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and become more independent.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting pupils individually, in small groups and within the classroom.

* Delivering planned learning activities and targeted interventions.

* Leading classroom learning when required, under the guidance of teaching staff.

* Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs.

* Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.

* Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals.

* Monitoring pupils’ progress and sharing feedback with the teaching team.

We are looking for someone with:

* HLTA status or a relevant qualification, or substantial experience working at an equivalent level.

* Experience supporting children with SEN.

* Confidence leading learning activities and managing classroom behaviour.

* A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
