  • Support students with their social, emotional, and communication development, fostering independence and confidence.

  • Help to maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.

  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies as directed by the class teacher or SENCO.

  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents, and external specialists.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive rapport with students, staff, and parents.

  • The ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a team.

  • Resilience and adaptability to respond to varying student needs and situations.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students with a range of special educational needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Moderate/Severe Learning Difficulties, SEMH).

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, youth work qualification).

  • Training in behaviour management techniques (e.g., Team Teach).

Benefits:

  • Competitive rates of pay.

  • A profound opportunity to make a tangible difference in young people's lives.

  • A supportive, friendly, and dedicated team environment within a specialist school.

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training in SEN.
