Salary: £100 - £120 per day

GSL Education London Branch is seeking a dedicated and experienced female SEN TA to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary comprehensive school and sixth form for girls in Tower Hamlets. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and proactive SEN TA who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

As an SEN TA, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. The successful SEN TA will work closely with teachers and the SEN department to provide personalised support and create a positive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic SEN TA who enjoys making a real difference to young people’s lives.

Responsibilities of the SEN TA

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
Assist students with their academic, social and emotional development.
Carry out general Teaching Assistant duties to support classroom learning.
Provide intimate care when required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
Support students with mobility and physical needs using safe Manual Handling techniques.
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support plans.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote student independence.
Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Monitor and record student progress where necessary.
Support students during lessons, break times and other school activities.
Requirements for the SEN TA

Previous experience working as an SEN TA or in a similar support role within a school setting.
Must hold a valid Manual Handling Certificate.
Must be confident in carrying out general Teaching Assistant duties and providing intimate care when required.
Experience supporting students with a range of special educational needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and student wellbeing.
Have the right to work in the UK.
