SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH, Autism, ADHD & Trauma

Location: Stottesdon
Hours: 08.30 - 16.30
Contract: Full-Time

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist setting, supporting children with a range of additional needs including SEMH, autism, ADHD and trauma-related needs.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

Support children with SEMH, autism, ADHD and trauma/attachment-related needs.

Help pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies.

Build positive, trusting relationships with children.

Support pupils with their learning, behaviour and personal development.

Use calm, consistent and nurturing approaches when responding to challenging behaviour.

Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual needs.

Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:

Patient, resilient and compassionate.

Calm and confident when supporting children experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.

Understanding of neurodiversity and the different ways children communicate and learn.

Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

A good team player with excellent communication skills.

Previous experience working with children with SEMH, autism, ADHD or trauma is highly desirable.

đźš— Driving Requirement
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.

The setting is not served by public transport, so applicants must be able to travel to and from the school independently.
