SEN Secondary Teacher – Tavistock – £32,916 - £51,048 + SEN allowance – Permanent, Full-time contract – Start January 2026

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced Secondary Teacher who is ready to take on a rewarding role supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including those facing anxiety-related barriers to learning.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in both in-school and outreach settings, offering creative, tailored teaching and building strong relationships with learners, families, and professionals across Cornwall.
What the role consists of:
Delivering personalised, flexible curriculum packages linked to EHCP outcomes
Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and holistic development
Leading and mentoring support staff within your team
Playing an active role in curriculum design and staff training within the wider Trust
What the look is looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – this role is not open to ECTs
Solid experience teaching within a secondary school setting
Excellent communication and ICT skills
A sensitive, flexible approach to working with learners with SEN, SEMH, and communication challenges
Willingness to work across various settings and key stages
Bonus Skills:
Additional training in Special Education, SEMH, or Autism
A subject specialism in Maths or Science
Experience working with EHCPs and inclusive classroom strategies
Knowledge of trauma-informed or attachment-aware practices
