About the Role:

Winner Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a dynamic SEN Specialist school in Erdington. This role involves working with a Year 9 complex class, requiring expertise in Makaton, PECs, and the engagement curriculum. This is a maternity cover position starting in September.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with complex SEN requirements.
Utilize Makaton and PECs for effective communication and learning.
Implement and adapt the engagement curriculum to ensure all students are engaged and making progress.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in a complex class setting.
Proficiency in Makaton and PECs.
Strong understanding of the engagement curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, creativity, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
